Rainy Days in April

What happened? I hear you ask.. last week the weather was lovely, to the point that I got my trusty slip on crocs on, ventured into the garden and after deciding that the moss covered bench was actually ok to perch my bum on after all, sat and enjoyed the breeze. With the warmth of the sun on my face, and with my head back and eyes closed, I listened to the chirping of busy birds making nests in the house eves. Simple pleasures.





That is until the heavens opened. Roll on 24 hours and that same scene would need arctic busting thermals and a hot toddy. Yep, it's doing what it does best in April in The Lakes. Rain.





The lambs thankfully don't appear to mind but it did put paid to my slumbers. Now yellow has always been my favorite colour. I've had 2 yellow mini's and a yes, a yellow VW beetle... and seeing the daffodils (yes another favorite) push through and gloom gave me inspiration. Along with another favorite (yes, its yellow too) of meringue pie, I sat with a generous slice and a cuppa and came up with the long drop earrings created with the ever so versatile Helm Weave.
