There is something incredibly special about working on furniture that has a deep history. Recently, I was commissioned to reupholster a set of matching, handmade dining room chairs that had been cherished by one UK family for over 45 years.

We often talk about the history and character that comes with antique furniture restoration, but every so often, a project comes into our Middlemarsh workshop that lets us blend traditional craftsmanship with a wonderful sense of fun. That is exactly what happened when a client from the beautiful village of Cerne Abbas, Dorset, approached us with a pair of classic leather wingback chairs.
